So, is United Gold Direct a scam? No, it is not a scam. It is a legit company with a real address and real owners.
YES! There are a few ones I would consider better alternatives, the absolute best one I can recommend is; GOLDCO.
United Gold Direct has been in business for a long time and from some of the reviews, I found online their customers are satisfied and recommend them to others who are looking to buy gold. The fact that there are three reports filed at the Ripoff Report takes down the overall rating. If you are interested in reading more about this I suggest you do your own search and read what customers have reported.
Always do your own research based on what is important to you. Call the company up and ask questions. If they are a serious business they will answer your question with no strings attached. A company that really cares about its clients takes their time to make sure that they are well informed about the products and prices.

It is the largest precious metals dealer in Minnesota and they claim to have 4962 active clients. The headquarters are located in Wayzata, MN and they run their business mostly over the phone and online.

They have been in business for nearly a decade and received great reviews from their customers and gotten great scores on different online review and rating sites. It is easy to get started by going to their website where you find all the information you need to get going.
Miles Franklin is a good choice if you are a collector looking to buy some extra coins or bars. If you already have your own secure storage to store your precious metals in Miles Franklin can probably help you find some good products to fill out your collection.
The fact that they are not a true gold custodian brings down the overall rating since my opinion is that you should have one go-to company that can fit all your needs. The lack of customer reviews online makes it harder to evaluate the company as well. This company suits people who are looking to expand their already existing portfolio. If you are a first-time buyer this company is not the right choice for you!
