Website: www.directbullionusa.com/
Owner: Samuel O’Brien (President)
Who is it for: retirees, precious metals investors
Overall rating: (3.5 / 5)
What is Direct Bullion USA?
Direct Bullion USA seems to be a precious metals dealer that just started their business in the U.S. They have been operating since 2015 out of London and Europe, and now recently they have started to offer their service in the United States as well. The main office in the country is located at this address:
1101 BRICKELL AVE ,
MIAMI , FLORIDA 33131
How does it work?
There are basically two ways to go about it.
1: Either you simply buy gold or silver
2: You invest in gold & silver through an IRA
FAQs
Do they offer precious metals IRA service?
Yes they do. The custodians they work together with are Equity Trust, Provident Trust and The Royal Mint.
There is no info on the fees associated with opening a new IRA through Direct Bullion USA on their website though.
Can you store your gold & silver at home?
Yes you can, however, if you invest in gold & silver in an IRA you cannot store it at home as it´s not allowed. However, as long as you buy outside of an IRA there is no problem to store it at home, or anywhere you want.
Can you store your gold with the company?
You can store your precious metals through third-party partner depositories such as Texas Precious Metals Depository and Delaware Depository.
Do they have a buyback policy?
Yes they do. This company gives their clients the option to sell back the metals they purchased from the company in the first place. There is no info on to what price they buy it back though. You are adviced to call an account manager and discuss the buy-back price.

What payment methods are available?
When you look at the terms and conditions on their website it states that cloents can pay through wire transfer, electronic funds like ACH for example, cashier´s checks, credit card, debit card, certified check, etc
For online orders that are less than $50k you can pay with a credit or debit card.
Can you buy gold & silver from this company if you live outside the U.S.?
Well, you can not buy from their USA business but you could buy from their european business if you live in some of the European countries. Visit their European website to see if your country is listed: directbullion.com
Is Direct Bullion USA legit?
Yes, it seems like they are legit. They got a real owner and a real physical address. Eventhough there are no reviews to be found online about their USA business, there are good reviews and testimonials online from clients of their european business, that got started in London 2015.
PROs & CONs
PROs
- Good looking website
- Have a good reputation with their London business (that started 2015)
- Offer IRA services
CONs
- No info on IRA fees on their website
- Nothing to be found from the most well-known consumer protection agencies (on their USA biz)
- Claims on their website that just don´t make sense (see further down about BBB for example)
- Very new player in this industry (especially in USA but also where they originally got started 2015 in London)
Better Alternatives?
Honest, clear and transparent alternatives in this industry are not as many as it might seem, however, there is one smaller business that comes out (by far) as the most transparent one in the industry and that is Augusta Precious Metals.
Their service is only for someone who are looking to invest a minimum of 50k though, if you want to go lower than that then your best bet is probably going to be Goldco or Hartford Gold as they got lower minimums.
Direct Bullion USA Reviews
As mentioned in the beginning, there are some other audit sites online that have, just like we do now, reviewed and researched about Direct Bullion USA. Most of those reviews claim to have found a good BBB rating for example…
That is VERY weird as there is absolutely nothing to be found on Direct Bullion USA.
There are reviews to be found on Direct Bullion, but that is a completely different thing, they haven´t provided services on the US but in Europe, and under a different logo and a different website url… So my only guess is that the other audit sites might have mixed it up…
Something that is maybe even more weird is that BBB (Better Business Bureau) is listed as a “partner” on the Direct Bullion USA website. With a logo that states “accredited business” but when you try to click on the logo nothing happens (see screenshot below)
Guess that might be because there is no BBB accreditation on their new USA business, again, there is nothing at all to be found from the BBB…
On their homepage there is even another logo on BBB where it states A+ rating… but again, there is no such rating to be found on the actual BBB website.
…as a matter of fact, there is nothing to be found from any of the independent third-party consumer protection agencies, at least not from the most well-known and trusted ones. So what´s going on?

Really? No reviews at all on the USA biz?
We managed to find some Google reviews on their website, and there was a clickable link to the Google reviews on the USA company. However, there were not many reviews on their IRA service but more on people who seemed to have bought a couple of coins. However, the overall rating from the Google reviews were very good (see below):

Final words & verdict
Verdict: Legit
Overall rating: (3.5 / 5)
Ok, I think that sums up the overall view of this company pretty good, at least from what we were able to find out about them. It is hard for me to recommend them as I quite frankly don´t know anything about them, have never seen them before in this industry up until recently.
Yet, on their website they claim to have been in business for a long time…
Is Direct Bullion USA a scam? Well, I wouldn´t go as far as saying that, first of all, I might get in trouble if I do, but they sure raise a lot of question marks.
There are no reviews to be found from the most well-known and trusted consumer watch dog sites, in the same time they flash a BBB logo on their website stating “accredited business” so I have no clue on what´s going on? If you got an idea then please enlight me and those reading this on the subject!
Until then, I would not risk it but stick to what has proven to work for thousands of American retirees.
