Company: Investment Rarities Inc
Website: www.investmentrarities.com
Owner: Jim Cook
Who is it for? People who would like to invest in precious metals.
Overall rating: (2 / 5) Not recommended
Essential to mention (before we go into more details of this review)
We strongly recommend doing your research online before choosing a company to invest in. There are so many reviews online of clients being ripped off and scammed. So please investigate thoroughly and compare different alternatives before you make your decision.
One example: 99.9% of companies got “pushy” salespeople trying to stress you into acting fast.
Here is the thing, the #1 Recommended Gold & Silver IRA Dealer on our top-5 list got No-salesy representatives… So they won´t bother or terrorize you with phone calls.
You are an intelligent person, so I am sure that you understand the benefits of dealing with such a company instead, right?
+They got a couple more benefits you might appreciate as much as I do. You will understand yourself once you have visited the page (link) above.

With that being said, let´s continue with the review on Investment Rarities!
Intro:
Including precious metals in your retirement portfolio is a great decision and should be followed with extraordinary measures. Choosing the company you’ll be working with care is one of the steps necessary to ensure a smooth and gratifying investment experience. The criteria that play a role in determining a company’s value and quality of services is not limited to the amount of time it has been around, some new companies are on the top of the game, and others that have been in the business for years, are doing a poor job when it comes to serving their clients. Investment rarities were established over 40 years ago, but does that mean you should consider it? Let’s find out!
What is Investment Rarities?
Based in Minneapolis, USA, and founded in 1974, Investment Rarities is an American precious metals dealer with extensive experience in the business.
First impressions matter, and upon visiting this company’s website, I found that it’s plain, kind of boring, and it also lacks some crucial information. Even their about us page is just a simple paragraph. The website also lacks valuable articles and information about investing in gold.
Here’s a screenshot of the physical address of this company:
What are the products and services offered?
Investment Rarities offers coins and bars in gold and silver, such as the American Gold Eagle. Here’s a screenshot of some of the other products it offers:
Does it offer IRAs?
Investment Rarities does not offer IRAs, but it does suggest you choose Goldstar trust as your IRA custodian and IRI as your precious metals dealer. I do not recommend Goldstar trust, nor do I recommend working with two separate companies when investing in precious metals as it can cause unnecessary hassle.

Can you store with the company?
You can store with Investment Rarities but only at the Brinks Facility. Unlike our #1 Recommended company, IRI does not offer different highly secured vaults for you to choose from, nor does it detail the different fees of storing your precious metals. This further confirms the lack of information on this company’s website.
Can you sell back to the company?
Yes, you can sell back to Investment Rarities. Here’s an excerpt from their Q&A page that explains this:
When we purchase from you, send us the coins or bullion, lock-in the price with a broker, and we will forward your payment. Numismatic items are put into our consignment inventory and sold for you or they are purchased outright, depending on market activity.
Can you get the precious metals delivered home? Does this company offer international delivery?
Investment Rarities deliver precious metals to your home as a precious metals dealer. But there is no information about the delivery fees, security, or duration.
There’s also no information about whether IRI supports international delivery.
“Hidden fees” are where most of the rip-offs take place. That’s why I choose to work with companies that detail as many fees as possible.
What about online ratings and reviews?
One can never emphasize enough the importance of going through the online reviews and ratings even for buying something valuable, let alone invest your hard-earned money. Getting an idea about what other customers think about a particular company can go a long way in guiding you through your investment journey and helping you choose the dealer/custodian that suits you the best.
As always, gold retired gathered the online reviews and ratings here in one place!

Final Words and Verdict
Verdict: Legit
Overall rating: (2 / 5) Not recommended
Okay, I think that’s everything that could be said about Investment Rarities. Like I said above, although this company has been around for a long time, that doesn’t make it one of the companies we would recommend. On the contrary, I would honestly avoid it entirely and look in other directions given its bad reviews and lack of information on its website.
