Who is it for: Collectors.
Overall rating: (3 / 5)
Important to mention before we continue with the review:
We always strongly recommend doing your research online before you choose a company to invest in. There are so many reviews online where former clients claim they have been ripped off and scammed. One tricky way companies get away with this is they disguise charges in so-called “hidden fees”.
So always be aware and please, investigate completely before you make your choice when it comes to big investments.

What is Texas Precious Metals? – Overview
According to their own website, Texas Precious Metals is one of the largest precious metals companies in the United States. They have an online precious metals business and a local business in Shiner, Texas. The company was started in 2004 and is a part of Kaspar Companies, that is a family-owned firm established in 1898.
The products and services offered
TPM offers gold, silver, and platinum coins. They also sell gold and silver bars.
These are some of the coins that you can purchase from their website;
- Australian Gold Kangaroos
- Canadian Silver Maple Leaf
- American Gold Eagle coins
TPM can help you out with your IRA rollover but they are not a true custodian. They recommend some companies for you to choose from.
For storage options, TPM suggests Texas Precious Metals Depository, CNT Depository, or Strategic Wealth Preservation (SWP).
How does it work?
You can make an order at their website by searching for the products you are after and placing them in your checkout basket. In order to pay you to have to create an account and chose a payment method.
If you prefer to order by phone, you can reach TPM at 361-594-3624, Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. CST.
All packages ship for FREE domestically via UPS fully insured.
You can also sell your precious metals to TPM if you regret making an investment.

Are there better alternatives out there?
YES! There are a few ones I would consider better alternatives but the absolute best one I can recommend is; GOLDCO.
Goldco offers precious metals, and Gold IRA to its clients with expert support. They have been in business for over a decade and received great reviews from their customers and gotten great scores on different online review and rating sites. It is easy to get started by going to their website where you find all the information you need to get going.
- Online webshop.
- Not a true gold custodian.
- Few reviews found online.
Final words and verdict
Overall rating: (3 / 5)
Texas Precious Metals is a good dealer for people who know what to buy and don’t need any extra advice or service. It is easy to buy products from them and you don’t have to talk to pushy salespeople who try to convince you what is best from their point of view. The website is easy to navigate and user-friendly which is a big plus. One downside is that there isn’t a lot of reviews online from people who have bought products from them which is weird based on the fact that they claim to be one of the largest precious metals dealers in the US.
For collectors who are looking to expand their portfolio sure, I would recommend TPM. However, for the real investor who is looking for the real deal and wants the full experience, I suggest you click on the link below to find out which is the best precious metals dealer out there!
