Today we take a look at Entrust Group for you. What is The Entrust Group? A scam or a legit company? Can you feel safe? Are there better alternatives out there? These are some of the questions this review will focus on!
Company: The Entrust Group
Website: www.theentrustgroup.com
Owner: Hubert Bromma (CEO)
Price: Depends on your investment (and the fees).
Who is it for: Retirement Investors.
Overall rating: (3.5 / 5)
Important to mention! (before we continue with the review)
We always strongly recommend doing your research online before you choose a company to invest in. There are so many reviews online where former clients claim they have been ripped off and scammed. One (very common) tricky way companies get away with this is they disguise charges in so-called “hidden fees”.
So always be aware and please, investigate completely before you make your choice when it comes to big investments.

What is The Entrust Group? – Overview
The Entrust Group was founded in 1982 by Hubert Bromma. The office headquarters are located in Oakland, CA. They offer help with self-directed IRA services in the US. The Entrust Group supports with services to people who are looking to buy alternative investments to put into their retirement funds.
The physical address of the company is 555 12th Street, Suite 900, Oakland, CA 94607.
The products and services offered

Important to mention here:
If you are looking for a precious metals IRA there is really only one company I would recommend over any other…

How does it work?
Their website works pretty similarly to any other investment company which often means that they want you to make a call and get a FREE consultation so that you can speak to an advisor.
The phone number to call is (800) 392-9653.
For those who want to open up a self-directed retirement account these are the three steps to take;
- Open up an account.
- Fund your account
- Choose an investment.
How good is their support?
One thing I always put a lot of weight on when it comes to the quality of a company’s support system is if they got a live chat function on their website or not.
So, does The Entrust Group have this? No, I couldn’t find any chatbox on their site. That is a minus (at least in my book).
They do however have (the ordinary) fill out a form where you can contact them through email if you don’t prefer to call them on the phone.
Are there any red flags?
You should always review and compare different investment companies against each other before you make a final decision.

The conclusion from this:
The online reviews of The Entrust Group are mixed with love and hate. There are those who have given them negative reviews, on the company and those who claim they are the best to do business with. Out of those who gave a thumbs down, the complaints are mainly on the unusual and high fees that came up after they made a purchase. There are also those who have experienced dealing with rude sales reps and gotten poor customer service.
Below you got some “not so positive” ones from the Yelp website
These two reviews are found on Yelp and the first one is from 2018-01-29;
Do yourself a favor and don’t do business with this company. They never seem to know what they are supposed to do to process investment requests. The rules change regularly, making it a giant time suck. And good luck reconciling your statements and fees from them. I could never make heads nor tails of it. They also didn’t send me invoices for their fees for a long period of time, and then I got a letter saying they’ve closed my account for non-payment despite my not having received the statements. Since my account was fully invested in assets, I have a giant IRS bill for monies that I actually don’t possess. I have no idea how this company is legally allowed to be in business.
The date of this review is 2017-11-07;
After an error on their part, they will not help with an IRS issue. Costing me 22k in IRS fees. A simple procedure on their part and they want no part of this.
Not the same company when I signed up the good people have left on to greener pastures. If your an investor do yourself a favor and find a new company to deal with that has great customor service.
Important to mention here:
The ones above are 2 very negative ones, nightmares I would say… However, it is important to mention that there is also very positive reviews of the company. But, I am here to protect the consumer and not the big company, and I think it is important that you see this and also that you know that there are companies with close to zero complaints like my #1 recommendation!
Is The Entrust Group A Scam?
So, is The Entrust Group a Scam? No, it is not a scam, it is simply another IRA custodian among hundreds and hundreds of them… They got real owners and a real physical address.
However, if it is your best alternative is another story… and in my (humble) opinion you might want to look elsewhere…

The pros and cons
Something that is always wise (and recommended) to do before making any kind of decision is to compare a company’s positive sides against its negative ones. As always in our reviews we make sure to provide you with some obvious points on both sides of the spectrum to make this job easier for you:
The good
- Been in business for over 30 years.
- A wide selection of investment options.
The bad
- Not listed on Trustlink or Business Consumer Alliance.
- Bad reviews found online.
- According to reviews online they have charged hidden fees.

Final words and verdict
Verdict: Legit
Overall rating: (3.5 / 5)
Ok, I think that sums up the overall review of this company pretty good. It is a legit one I would say, however, I cannot recommend it as there is at least a handful I would consider better (or safer).
The rating 3 out of 5 stars feels like a fair one, for now, this can, of course, change to either a higher or a lower one in the future as we make sure to update our reviews as soon as any “news” comes up on the companies we have reviewed.
What do I recommend?
As I said, this seems like a legit company, and if you are looking for “green energy” IRA you might want to consider them, however, if precious metals are what you are after I would look at other companies before making any decision. The absolute best one I can recommend who have no complaints, no hidden-fees (they actually waive all the fees for up to the first 3 years) then look below:
