What is TheSunExchange (thesunexchange.com)?
TheSunExchange is a company based in South Africa. The company is full of professionals in the solar industry, with different areas of expertise when it comes to solar energy. Abraham Cambridge is the CEO and also a board member together with Lisa Lynne. The size of the total team is actually pretty huge as you can see them all on the website.
Their mission is to start up solar projects in the country (and in nearby countries) as that particular area of the world got the best conditions for solar energy. Here is where you come into the picture as you can invest in the projects and earn passive income from the solar energy generated by your shares in the project, or projects. You will earn monthly and up for 20 years on each project! But there is some things you might want to consider before taking the plunge into this universal peer-to-peer solar cell leasing with a global reach, we look at those things further down.
Is this something for you?

How Sun Exchange Works?
The Sun Exchange model is fairly straightforward, making the process easy for anyone to be a part of solar growth.
Step 1
Investors purchase solar panels intended for a specific project with the potential to generate a large amount of solar power, like for example a school, hospital, church or other large building in a sunny location like Africa or India or South America.
Step 2
Investors then lease these panels to a customer – the owners of the buildings or structures atop which the solar panels will be installed.
Step 3
Once the project is fully funded and all of the available solar panels are purchased and leased, the project will be installed.
Step 4
Investors collect money based on the amount of solar energy generated by their investment halfway across the world.
This makes solar affordable for areas that lack financing opportunities but have plenty of pure sunshine available, and it’s setting course to take a big bite out of our global CO2 emissions.
The Sun Exchange reviews and ratings to be found online
I always look at what clients and customers of a particular product or service have to say about their experience before I move forward, and today is no different. I went out on my hunt to find what the investors of this company had to say. Below is the results I found:
Facebook
Rating: (5 / 5) (out of 54 customer reviews)
As you can see above their ratings on Facebook is flawless, and it seems like the oens who are involved love their experience so far! Generally it looks like people are making around 10% – 11% per year from their investment, even I did see that some had earned as much as 18%-20% and that is of course a very good yearly ROI.
The PROs & CONs
Something that can help you to get a better overall view of something is to compare the positive sides against the not so positive ones, right? I always like to bring up some clear point of both sides of the spectrum when I write reviews:
Here’s What’s Great About Sun Exchange: Considering Your Benefits
- It provides opportunity to get into solar for those who live in areas that solar doesn’t make sense for, like regions that don’t get consistent sunlight or are often cloudy or rainy.
- It’s a long-term investment strategy that relies on clean sustainable solar energy, making it a better way forward for the planet and great for investors looking to develop a sustainable investment portfolio.
- But most importantly, the average passive income earned by members of Sun Exchange is 11%
- They accept both fiat currency and also Bitcoin
Here’s What’s Not So Great About Sun Exchange: Considering Your Risks
- Like many long-term investments, this one takes a little patience. The solar project you purchase panels for must be funded completely before it is built, so you are at the whim of the peer-to-peer investing community to complete the installation.
- The biggest risk some might say would be to your liquidity as there is currently no aftermarket for your solar panels, so you’ll have to hold on to them for the next 20 years. BUT according to Sun Exchange, there is a secondary market in the works for those who need to liquidate their Sun Exchange solar panel assets.
Sun Exchange and Your Bottom Line
Verdict: Legit!
Overall rating: (4.8 / 5)
Ok, I think that sums up the overall view of this company pretty good. It is a legit one for sure, and personally I have to say I like the whole consept alot! If you are looking to diversify and are interested in sustainable investing, Sun Exchange has a lot to offer. With the price of traditional energy outpacing inflation at a rate of 4x, investing in clean, affordable solar is a pretty safe bet. While there are some risks, as with any investment, what we all stand to gain is a little money in our pockets and a better environment for all of us.
My personal take:
I don´t know about you but personaly I find this consept to be great, it might have to do with the fact that I am a solar enthusiats but I also like the fact of investing in something that is good for the enviroment and helps people out, while I in the same time generate income doing so. This investment might actually help you sleep better at night!

South Africa, the land of Elon Musk. I have always felt attracted to clean energy. Solar panels in my home and a Tesla in my garage would be like a dream come true. But I have begun to research and there are specific opportunities to invest in clean energy, such as this one. I am glad to read The Sun Exchange is a legit opportunity. I’ll focus on investing with them.

Have to say I agree with you that it would be great to have most things powered by solar, such as the house, car, etc.
Glad you found this opportunity interesting, you are not alone about that! Who knows, maybe we end up investing in the same project!
Thank you again!

With the planet’s focus on climate change, solar has become big business. The concept of pooling investors investment to fund a particular project and then pay investors a dividend sounds interesting. Certainly earning 10% or more on annualized basis makes this investment opportunity worth investigating since the U.S. Ten Year Treasury only currently pays 1.59%. The Sun Exchange appears to worthy of investigation for sure.
Hello everyone my name is Robert and I think this is the best opportunity save the mother Earth that’s a good thing absolute 100% save the climate that’s fantastic yes indeed.
First of all, thank you for your comment!
Agree that it is absolutely a good thing to do! When you can earn Bitcoin in the same time it becomes a no-brainer!
