Essential to mention (before we go into more details of this review)
We strongly recommend doing your research online before choosing a company to invest in. There are so many reviews online of clients being ripped off and scammed. So please investigate thoroughly and compare different alternatives before you make your decision.
One example: 99.9% of companies got “pushy” salespeople trying to stress you into acting fast.
Here is the thing, the #1 Recommended Gold & Silver IRA Dealer on our top-5 list got No-salesy representatives… So they won´t bother or terrorize you with phone calls.
You are an intelligent person, so I am sure that you understand the benefits of dealing with such a company instead, right?
+They got a couple more benefits you might appreciate as much as I do. You will understand yourself once you have visited the page (link) above.

With that being said, let´s continue with the review on Wells Fargo IRA!
What is Wells Fargo IRA?
Headquartered in San Francisco, California, and founded in 1851, Wells Fargo is an American multinational financial services company. It has been around for a long time, and it’s now the third-largest bank in the US when it comes to total assets. Does the quality of their services match their experience and size? Let’s continue investigating and find out!
Berkshire Hathaway owns 10% of this company, while various people and companies hold the rest of its stocks.
Here is a screenshot of Wells Fargo’s Headquarters:
While investigating this company, I stumbled upon some news that is not promising to say the least. According to CNN, this company plans to close 800 branches by 2020 due to a financial crisis. This is not a good sign. You can read more about it here ( opens in new window )
What are the products and services offered?
Wells Fargo offers multiple financial services, including:
IRAs offered?
Here are the different IRAs offered by Wells Fargo:
WellsTrade® IRA | Intuitive Investor® IRA Account | Full-Service BrokerageIRA |

IRA fees?
Here is a screenshot of Wells’ Fargo IRA fees for their three different IRAs offered respectively:
As you can see, these fees aren’t that detailed. Maybe this company has more documents explaining the fees. Still, for transparency, I would’ve preferred to see fees displayed directly on their website in a manner that is as detailed as possible. You might ask why? Well, “hidden fees” are something many IRA investors complain about, and I’m sure you’re too smart to fall for them. This is where most of the rip-offs take place, so it’s better to get as much information as you can about the fees of any company.

Does Wells Fargo offer precious metals?
Wells Fargo offers precious metals as a fund you can invest in. But, it doesn’t detail the storage fees, delivery fees, or other fees associated with investing in precious metals. Also, the different kinds of precious metals available are not included on their website.
This is a disappointment and why you should consider other options that give precious metals the importance they deserve when it comes to including them in your retirement portfolio.
What about online ratings and reviews?
It’s always highly recommended to go through any company’s online reviews and ratings before making your decision. Getting an idea about what other customers think about a particular company can go a long way in guiding you through the investment process and helping you choose the IRA custodian/precious metals dealer that suits you the best.

Are there any Red Flags?
Yes, there are plenty. The number of complaints alone is enough of a red flag. This company received a staggering 3,429 in the last three years on the BBB website alone.
Conclusion:
The reviews of Wells Fargo are just awful. This company’s previous clients are calling it a “joke,” “dishonest,” and one customer said, “I would rate it zero if I could.” You can find these reviews and other bad ones across all the top review websites. This proves that this company, despite its vast size, failed and is still failing to provide good service to its customers, which makes it fall to the bottom of the list when it comes to the IRA custodians you should consider.

Verdict: Legit
Overall rating: (2 / 5) NOT Recommended
Okay, that’s everything that could be said about Wells Fargo. Despite its colossal size and experience, this company’s reputation is terrible. Almost everyone who worked with them seemed unsatisfied with their service. I would honestly recommend looking in other directions and avoiding companies that can cause nothing but headaches.
