What countries are the worlds biggest gold producers? In this short post I am going to present the answer to that question, and yeah you guessed it, China is on top of that list…
In 2023, China’s mines yielded a projected 370 metric lots of the golden rare-earth metal, strengthening its position as the world’s leading gold manufacturer. THe worldwide gold production that year reached roughly 3,100 metric lots, with China’s output accounting for almost 12% of the overall amount.
China was also the leading international manufacturer in 2022 at a nation level, contributing roughly 10 percent of the overall around the world production.
While China’s gold mining market is significant, the majority of its mines are reasonably little, with just tje Zijinshan gold-copper mine in the Fujan Province producing over 300,000 ounces of gold.

On the other hand, the United States, with its much smaller sized gold production, saw a production worth of 11 billion U.S. dollars in 2020. AngloGold Ashanti, among the biggest gold mining business worldwide, is headquartered in South Africa and created profits of over 4 billion U.S. dollars in 2021.
The business produced around 2.5 million ounces of gold that year, with a substantial part originating from its African operations. ALthough big corporations control the gold mining market, smaller sized independent mines and even prohibited operations, such as the one in Ghana where 18 individuals passed away in a mine collapse in 2009, likewise exist.
Gold mining is performed worldwide, with activities happening on all continents exept Antarctica.
I hope you found this short (but to the point) article on the worlds biggest gold producers to be helpful and that you now have a better overall view of this subject.
